Our Leadership

William “Bill” Thomas

I am a native Kentuckian, born in the coal fields of Harlan County, Kentucky.

I attended and graduated from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky, having received a B.S. degree in education.  While at Cumberland I met and married my lovely wife, Patricia J. Williamson Thomas.

My wife and I have two sons, Billy and Paul, both of which live in Rockbridge County.  Through them we have been blessed with four grandchildren and one great-grand child.

Prior to my conversion experience, Pat and I both taught school.  I taught for three years in Kentucky and we both taught in Warren County, Ohio.  While teaching, I did graduate work at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in April of 1968.  After teaching another year, I enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, located in Wake Forest, North Carolina, from which I was awarded the Master of Divinity Degree in 1973.

Over the past 50 years we have been blessed to serve eight churches, I as pastor and she involved in the music of each church.  It has been a cherished privilege to have served Faith Mountain Baptist Church the past few years.
